There's nothing stopping you from mixing. I've 'stolen'' the British BoB air units and used them in a mod.
But adherbal stated in another post that the BoB unit statistics are not directly compatible with the rest of the official OOB air types.
He didn't specific which statistics.

Erik,
Thank you for your reply.
How do you steal "Them"? (B-17)
Get them to appear in menu's? (B-17)
Any other "second story", advice welcomed.
Thanks
Earle

Take a look at the BoB folder under my games...mod. Here you'll see what it takes to make a full-fletched mod with all bells & twistes.
Create your own mod folder and recreate the folder structure of BoB.
Copy the standard units.csv file from the main game folder to the mod data folder.
Copy the BoB entrances from its units.csv file to my mod file. I use Open Office. My v10 Excel obviously does not understand comma separated values
Next I copied whatever I found of graphics etc from BoB to Mod. You should probably check & edit various txt-files as these may be specific to BoB.
Hope this helps
Erik

Re: Planes in OOB Pacific be used in Mod-BOB?
Thank you Erik,
I get the jist of it, I think.
I see how the Unit.csv is setup, OK with that.
I can find the graphic/units icons for BoB.
But I cannot find the graphic icons for the main game?
I think I would like to add the German planes to the main game.
Any additional advice?
Thanks,
Earle

You won't have access to the individual main game graphics because they're tucked in a resource file.
Someone on the forum used a tool to extract event graphics, maybe this can be used for other stuff as well.
But do you really need them? They are in the editor already. You can duplicate a unit in the list, then give it a new name and number (use something like a 5000-series to avoid duplicate numbers).
Then add an entry in the english_mod.txt where you link the unit number to the name you want to see in the game. The new unit uses the old 3d model.
The entry would look something like ' unit_5026 = super-weapon '

All you need to do is copy the line of the B17 in the units.csv file in the game data folder and paste that into you mod's units.csv file. Just make sure it uses a unique ID, and you may have to tweak the stats because the BoB mod units are not balanced in the same way as the vanilla game.

Your mod for BOB is outstanding!!!
Any plans to grow the mod to include portions of Bombing the Reich?

Skyrider,
Thank you for your kind words.
The short answer is yes. I am finishing up my latest, Battle of the Ruhr: Essen '43.
These are scenarios in the [Mod - Battle of Britain].
Thanks again,
Earle

Just a question , if you don't mind, you seem to have a considerable grasp of that period. What resources do you use? Buzzing around in p47s, p38s, p51s, p-61s etc has my mind a buzz with what can be!!!!

Skyrider,
Well, many sources; education, minor in history; etc. However if you wish to give it a try, Wikipedia will do. Then it's the work of your OoB and what you want to achieve, good luck.
