I have added a bunch of US and French tournaments to an 'International' set of FoG rankings. I am hoping to get the results from the various Iberian events to add as well.
The current plan for international rankings is roughly this:
The IWF championship counts as a grand slam event worth a potential 120 points.
One (possibly 2) event(s) per country counts as a major and 100 points
Everything else is a minor and 80 points.
First place is worth the full points, last worth 1, points evenly distributed between.
6 tournaments in a 12 month period for a full ranking. Majors and the IWF always count full value, minors are averaged when a player has played more than 6 comps. Add together all these scores and divide by 6 to get a ranking out of about 100.
Hope that makes sense.

If country organisers want to get National rankings going we will support them and publish these on the web site
We will also incorporate them into world rankings and James is working on this as I speak, so spread the word to your country organisers. Remeber we have to be informed to have these included

Hmmm .. I thought you just needed someone to compile the reports and crunch some numbers. That I can do. I have no idea who the "national organizers" would be here in the US. I assume organizations like Gulf South that have converted over from DBM to FoG and the folks that run the tourney at big events like Historicon would be filling that bill.

If you are willing to crunch the numbers I doubt anyone would object. The problem is managing to round up the results.
James will give you the template to work from. With these sort of ideas I always believe lets get it up and running then we can tweak stuff. We will give you all the support you need

The New Zealand rankings link also currently points at the GB rankings.petirouge wrote:FoG Rankings has been updated (2nd August 2008) in the "on the field of glory" section

I've got the Historicon and Cold Wars results for anyone with the spare time to do the numbers. I would volunteer, but spare time is not one of the things I have in any abundance.DontFearDaReaper wrote:Hmmm .. I thought you just needed someone to compile the reports and crunch some numbers. Send them to me. My email address is bennettdk "at" sbcglobal "dot" net . I sent a PM to Hammy to get the templates. Once I understand the international scoring system a little better and find out if other US tournaments listed in the Hall of Honor should count as US 2008 minor tourneys I'll put something together for the Slitherine folks.
