Issues with US Campaign side winning Midway Scenario

Hi. I am new to the game but am enjoying it. I have a question on the Midway scenario of the US campaign side. In my latest try I wiped out the invasion force, killed 4 Japanese carriers, a BB, a CA numerous destroyers, all visible Japanese aircraft, only visible Japanese forces at turn 35 were an undamaged destroyer and oil Tanker and 2 oil tankers with 1 damage point left, My US forces: Midway totally intact, 4 undamaged carriers left, No Wildcats/Devastators/Dauntless A/C units lost completely, a BB, 5 CAs,4 destroyers I could move and all afloat at games end. The end result was I lost! I met all conditions unless there were more than 4 Japanese carriers and I didn't see the 5+ ones. How is that possible? How do you win Or is this a no win end to the Campaign? Thanks. AL

Is this a single player scenario or multiplayer?
