panzer corps>afrika corps>second offensive

Post by floppy66 »

I played this scenario more time and I hold El Aghelila and all other objectives, but at the end of all my 22 turns I earned only a marginal victory. I didn't see any reinforcement, too. What did I do wrong?
best regards

It sounds like you took too long to capture El Aghelia.

The reinforcements come around about turn 11. If you capture El Aghelia early they arrive at turn 11 (or whatever it is). If you are a bit late, you get some reinforcements but not all of them, and if you are too slow you don't get any.

The briefing is clear you need to retreat first. You need quite a few units back to take El Aghelia reasonably early on which will mean you won't have enough troops to defend your initial position, so you will almost certainly need to withdraw the rest from the attacking forces. Once your reinforcements arrive you should be able to recover the objectives.

Maybe 11 is the last turn you get any reinforcements.

Either way, you're better off capturing El Aghelia as son as possible to be sure you get the full reinforcements. If you are early you have time to resupply and reposition your troops so that when the reinforcements arrive you are ready to go.
