Battle of Britain: AI will not complete turn 5

have steam version and have played imperial/allied campaigns along with various custom scenarios without issue.
i started battle of britain...it starts the intro scenario...everything is fine until end of turn 5.
it hit end turn...AI starts thinking and never stops...doesnt proceed to executing actions...just sits there and thinks...progress bar fills up...i have let it run as long as 20 mins.
have uninstalled/reinstalled via steam and verified game files multiple time.

There was indeed a compatibility issue with the newest patch. We've updated the BoB mod to fix this. If you open the DLC manager, select BoB and select "Update" it should download the new version.

Let me know if this solved the issue.

will give that a try as soon as i can get the dlc manager to connect.
right now it just says 'connecting...please wait' been sitting like that for a while....i can connect to online news without issue.

Apart from the still existing problem - has anyone already mentioned that in BoB the Bristol Blenheim icon is missing?

ok..4 days later....still unable to play BoB.
still unable to connect to dlc manager so i can get the fix. (yet i can easily connect to the news about the new USMC dlc)

hows about an alternate download link?
or maybe push it to steam so i can get it that way automatically?

disable the steam overlay and retry

Steam hasn't to do anything with it. Haven't installed the game with Steam but have the same problem.

installed hotfix...dlc manager now connects.
installed BoB update.
BoB went past turn 5 and seems to be working just fine so far. (went to turn 11 then came back here to post)

Reinstalled BoB; problem with missing Bristol Blenheim icon is fixed.
