It is going to be my favorite question
Yesterday evening I had a small shortage in food on my empire.
only the farthest planets from the capital and the agricultural planet seemed to be affected
this small shortage made me understood that the resource flow seems to work like a water adduction system pooring from the production site.
But... My agricultural planet was close (2 jumps away) to the capital and the fact that the farthest planets only seemed to be affected can be only coincidental with the fact they didn't really get police garrisoned.
Do somebody know how it works in detail?

Re: Ressources flows: how do they work?
Food problems usually coming from to build too mines. The workers from mines consume too food. Recomendation, if you build more mines, you will need more food sources. Research the hydroponic farm is very importand because easily you can build 50 hydroponic farms at each mineral planet and it will cover a good amount of what you need for your workers.

How the food consumption calculation is handled from planet to planet is the centre of my question.
And by extension how all resources are handled from planet to planet by the software.

There is a total value, each farm increase this value.

And do you know how the value is distributed after? the population is not diminishing during starvations. But the unrest rises. And I do not believe it rises randomly for what I observed on my games.Nomada_Firefox wrote:There is a total value, each farm increase this value.

No.I do not know.
Re: Ressources flows: how do they work?
No, distance from the source means nothing. So it's more or less random...Flef wrote:How the food consumption calculation is handled from planet to planet is the centre of my question.![]()
