Newbie question

New to the game, I am battling my way through the first low complexity scenario, Akragas 406BC.
Game mechanics are quite complex, I read a few post, tactica, wiki but well... information is difficult to digest.

So one question at a time.
Is there any rank bonus for heavy infantry units charging / defending?

I tried it with the Daphaneus units but didn't notice any bonus.

Found the answer, it's no.

Not in POA but if the HF beat MF in combat, the MF get a -1 in their cohesion test. So in battles where there's a large enough sample size, HF should defeat MF if evenly matched in POA.

Just bought Field of Glory plus some expansion packs. I would like to play some of the User made Scenerios/battles I see these have a download link, but which folder do I put them in ?

Also why cant the units turn in any direction during a battle, is this because of the terrain, I know I put alot of scrub in a scenerio I just made, will this have an effect on turning. Thank's for any help or advice....Have a great time with the game.

unzip them in the 'FieldOfGlory Scenarios' folder.

turning efficiency depends on whether a unit is drilled or not. since rough terrain decreases mobility, it also decreases turning ability as turning is a function of mobility.

Silly me ! I was looking in the wrong place. Should have ben looking in Documents. Also the scenerio I quickly put together was a British/Gallic Army fighting the Romans. So as I was controlling the Britons all of them will have been undrilled. The reason wwhy they couldn't turn 360*. Also liked the idea of changing the unit strength amongst other things. Thanks again for the help. I think though I should spend some time reading on how the game works, but I did want to dive straight in.
