Later Medieval Germans - how to rate the generals?

Post by gozerius »

As I'm just warming up to this system, especially the very liberating feeling of not being shackled by all the DBM list restrictions, I ponder, Just who would be considered an Inspired Commander, Field Commander etc.? Maximilian gets my vote for IC, but none of the others really stands out. I'm not averse to creating an army using an IC, but would it then really be historical? It seems that many people build their armies for the tournement without considering the fact that Inspired Commanders should be something rare and wonderful.

In scenarios or campaigns more attention should be paid to this issue, but in friendly competitive games or tournaments it is perhaps sufficient that they are Inspired in their own minds or lack enough of a record to show their true merits.
