Tanker troubles

So I ran my scout out a bit too far and it ran out of gas, so no problem, I built a tanker sent it out to refuel the scout. Crud! The scout took all the fuel and took off! They left the poor tanker crew stranded! There is no cutoff saying stop only take all but 4000 fuel! So I build Refueler which can make its own fuel as well as having loads of fuel aboard and escort it with some strike corvettes. Then some darned pirates how up and blow up the tanker and its crew while the rescue fleet was 1 jump away! Waaah!

tankers should never go out without support ships, armed, you have learnt your first lesson
