How to replay Campaign scenarios in Morning Sun

Post by rchev »

I wonder howe to go back to a specific scenario in the Morning Sun campaigh--if you don't replay a defeat at the end of a game there appears to be no way to go back and replay after you re-open the game. Also, even if you save a game, it gets overwritten (evidently) when you play another scenario. Any advice appreciated.

You can always save a scenario using a specific name (ie the scenario name), the deployment phase might be a good place to save.
Then you can load the deployment phase for that scenario later.

If you did not save scenarios during your first play, you could start a new campaign and skip any scenarios using the Shift c command #igotnukes.
This gives you an automatic victory.
If you need resource points, use the command #warbonds.

Here's another problem with Morning Sun--and thanks for your reply.
I completed Guandong--took BOTH supply points, and all but one other enemy city on the map. The enemy never got close to any of my victory points, and I knocked off just about enemy piece, all within the 40 moves.
And yet--it gave me a Defeat.
What gives???

Hi,

do you mean a scenario defeat, or a campaign end? The latter is supposed to happen when you win Guandong, but failed to win the previous scenario decisively.

A scenario defeat at Guandong of course should not happen if you achieve the objectives. Do you got a save of your playthrough per chance?

edit: also re saving a game - be careful to name specific saves. If you don't enter a name it might just overwrite the autosave, which then gets indeed overwritten on the next autosave.

Otherwise if you are unale to create your own (named) saves it would be a prob, but it should work.
