Assign Transport? / Landed Aircraft?
In the Scenario Editor, is it possible to assign transport to units or to place aircraft as landed on a carrier or airstrip?

I think you select the transport and then Ctrl-Click on the unit you want transported. This works for trucks, but I have not tested if it works for air transport.
Sea transports are assigned automatically to units at sea.
For spawned units (trigger/event) you can assign either air or land transport.
You put air units inside the hangar by first selecting the air unit, then Ctrl-Click on the hangar.
You move an air unit out of the hangar by selecting the unit in the list, then Shift-Click on the map.

Re: Assign Transport? / Landed Aircraft?
My gosh. This is tricky. Now that you pointed me in the right direction, let me be more specific for the benefit of any other poor souls like me who may encounter this thread. At least for landed aircraft.
First of all, you are not talking about clicking the transport and the unit at the same time or consecutively in the unit menu bar, then placing them conjoined on the map. That does not work, as I found out after a few tries!
Both the transport and the unit have to be on the map already, and the unit cannot be on top of the transport. Select the unit, then Ctrl-Click the transport.
Here's my problem. For me, this only works for air units, placing them in hangers and on carriers. I cannot get it to work for trucks. Ironic in that it's the reverse of your experience.

Place the land unit on map.
Select the truck unit in the unit list on the bottom of the editor.
Ctrl-Click on the land unit on the map.
This works for me.
A special case if you want to use a unit from a different faction.
Say you want to add an artillery unit to the British (currently they have none).
Select a US artillery unit in the unit list.
Change the flag to British.
Click on the map to place the now British artillery unit. This is lend-lease working for you
Now, you can't use the British truck in this case. You need to back to the US units, select the Studebaker and Ctrl-Click on the British artillery unit...
You have a British unit using the US art eqp in a Studebaker truck.
I have used this a lot in scenarios where the units available for a given nation miss some essentials. It works for spawning units too.

Re: Assign Transport? / Landed Aircraft?
Yes, thank you, Erik. So there is a subtle but significant difference in procedure here. Good to know / good to go.
Recap:
Landed Aircraft: Both the air unit and the hanger/carrier must be on the map already. Select the air unit, then then Ctrl-Click the hanger/carrier. Move an air unit out of a hangar or off a carrier by selecting the unit in the Units List, then Shift-Click on the map.
Assigned Transport: The ground unit must be on the map already. Select the truck or other transport in the unit selection menu bar and Ctrl-Click the ground unit. There is no way to remove assigned transport from ground units; simply remove the unit and add another of its type without transport.
Note: Sea transports are assigned automatically to units at sea.
