German Move.
Fearing another counter strike on them, all German TACs leave France and are pulled back probably to Germany. The Germans repair all of their 15 Fighters to 10 strength, well except two. This is very bad news for Northern Italy, seems like the bombing will start next turn!



Looks like the Finns are getting recalled to defend Germany.

France: It is truly a sad sight, can any one say D-Day?



Allied Fighters pull out of Northern Italy, do not want to get double attacked by German Fighters. American TACs, from Sardinia, heavily bomb the German ground Forces in Northern Italy. Advise for Allied ground troops in Northern Italy, dig in and say your prayers. I hope that the American TACs save them.

Wow, it's rare to see the Allies being pushed back to the sea in 1944. I think that there is a real risk that you will run out of time to take all Axis capitals.

D-Day and France certainly do not look promising! Can not even get Allied Air Superiority!

Regular Winter in Russia, Fair in the West

German Fighters double attack 5 of the Allies Fighters, with 10 German Fighters.


So The German Fighters do not escort the German TACs to bomb Northern Italy. Maybe the German TACS are repaired?


Allies repair their Fighters and place them on Sentry. Allied Air Superiority is not coming to France yet!

Seems like the Luftwaffe clears out of France?


The bombing of Northern Italy starts! Four German TACs attacks and four German ground attacks against two Allied units, killing one American Paratrooper and leaving an English Corp nearly dead at a strength of 1.

German move:
German TACs and ground attacks hammer Northern Italy, one para and two Corp are killed and a garrison is left at 3 strength.


Allied Move:
Counter attack in Northern Italy mainly with American TACs from Sardinia. No German units kill but the SS Mech is forced to retreat into the mountains and left at 2 strength.
German Mech and TACs are to strong for the Allies, can not keep this up much longer before Northern Italy is pushed into the Sea !

Allied Mechanized forces move towards Toulouse.

Turn 89. June 26, 1944

German move:
The Germans repair their Ground forces in Northern Italy and no TAC attacks either, giving the Allies a much needed rest in Northern Italy.


Allies move:
Finish off the 2 strength SS Mech in the mountains.
American TACs keep bombing.
Planing to land one Corp near Bordeaux next turn, the best D-Day I can do.


UK, two more Corps ready at ports.


Poland, Krakow and Lodz taken. Germans Corps have maned the Oder line.


Hungary, Prague looks tough a double line of German Corps in the rough.
Romanian oil, German para left at 1 strength in Ploesti.

One Russian and one Allied Fighter able to get a double attack on Two German Fighters leaving them at 1 and 3 strength.

Russian and Allied Air Forces move into Yugoslavia and Hungary in strength. The Germans will probably pull back their TACs and Fighters, which might give Northern Italy a second breather.

German move:
The Germans do nothing, no attacks on Northern Italy. The Germans could drive the Allies into the sea in Northern Italy but TACs are required, and the Germans just don't want to pay the Fighter repair bill.

Allies land one corp in France and drive up some Mechanized forces from Toulouse.

Hungary, Air war over southeast Germany. German Fighters are on sentry, Russian and Allied Fighter reach out and do a single attack on all the German Fighters they can reach. More Russian and Allied Fighter brought in closer.

France emptying, Siegfried Line starting to be maned.


German Offense into Poland, killing five Russian Corps and recapturing Krakow and Lodz.


Allied move:
Poland, Russian Infantry railed to Warsaw.


Hungary, German Fighters pulled back, they don't want to have an Air War. Ground attacks on one German Mech in the rough in Austrian.

Germans rail troops out of Normandy and the Atlantic Wall, back to Germany.

German's attack the Paratroopers around Innsbruck, killing one leaving the other at 2 steps.

The Russian don't advance just heavy air war over Germany.


Allied/Russian Fighters attack Luftwaffe from all sides.


BB bombardment of Rome, after SACs left it at 1 supply.

German Move:


Allied Move:
Three Paratroopers units are dropped to secure a bridge head over the Rhine



One German Garrison killed in Liege and one German Garrison force to retreat at the Rhine next to Arnhem, bridge head is established.


Russian Armor with heavy Russian TAC support attack two of the single line of German Corps and crosses the Oder! Two Russian paratroopers drop into Germany to support the Russian Armor. One Russian Corp does an amphibious landing next to Rostock.


In Czechoslovakia, Russian Mechanized forces capture the rail station at Brunn to prevent retreating by rail.


Rome left at 1 step, Venice is surrounded.


Allied and Russian Fighters attack and crush the Luftwaffe from all sides.

Mud in Germany, Snow in Russia

German Move:
The only tank busting unit the Germans have is their triple veteran TACs which have an anti-tank value of seven, and it does not even go down in the mud or winter it's all purpose weather! Germans fly their TACs to attack the Russian Armor at the bridge head across the Oder.
Germans counter with everything they have attacking the bridge head at the Oder, killing a Russian Guard Armor and leaving a Russian Armor at 5 steps.



Allies Move:
Not much action due to the mud.

Fresh Russian Armor swapped into the bridge head over the Oder. Rail station at Rostock captured. Russian paratroopers repaired.Luftwaffe is attacked most of it is left at 1 or 2 steps, need to finish off the deadly German triple veteran TACs.

Mud in Germany, Snow in Russia

German move:
With the Luftwaffe broken, no counter attacks. The bridge heads across the Oder and Rhine stand and the Germans abandon the German perimeter defenses and start to stuff the area between Hamburg and Berlin with units.


Russians just bomb and wait for the winter.


Allies start to seep through the second hole in the Siegfried Line.


Russian Mech captures Venice.

Snow across the board.

German move:


Russian Armor advance one hex to the outskirts of Berlin.

I think the Turn 95 should be a key point of this pbem ! Allies chose the last fair weather to make the breakthrough ! Since the coming turn have 95% possibility to be bad weather , Axis can not use its power to counterattack effectively ! It was really a smart strategy ! I did learn a lot from it !

Yes, if it wasn't for the mud I think the bridgeheads would have been wiped out, the Germans were still very strong.
