Having visited Ephesus many years ago and meeting my wife in nearby Kusadasi I'm thinking of doing an Ephesian army. This however falls in 6 or 7 lists.
Lydian
Greek
Attilid Pergaman
Alexandrian Macedonian
Seleukid
Pontic
and Late republican Roman.
Having been to Pergamon (on my honeymoon) I like the idea of an Attilid army but the Lydian, Pontic and Roman armies also have my interest. Which of the 4 should it be?

You could add "Achaemenid Persian" to your list.Irmin wrote:Having visited Ephesus many years ago and meeting my wife in nearby Kusadasi I'm thinking of doing an Ephesian army. This however falls in 6 or 7 lists.

The cities ruins are a mix of Roman and Classical Greek, so it's a what do you fancy- I prefer Classical Greek given its the location of the temple of Artimis

I would dismiss Roman as everybody uses Romans.Irmin wrote:Having visited Ephesus many years ago and meeting my wife in nearby Kusadasi I'm thinking of doing an Ephesian army. This however falls in 6 or 7 lists.

Pontic could be fun, but my suggestion would be to do the Pergamenes as that is likely to be most popular with the wife (unless the honeymoon was such that she really would not want to be reminded of it).

Re: Help with army list for Ephesus
Having spent time at both on my honeymoon way too many years ago, I would second the recommendation for Pergamene. Runner up would be to do Lydian as the list next most typical for that area. Doing Pergamene could probably be extended to allow fielding an earlier Successor list (Antigonus One Eye, I think) appropriate to the area as well.Irmin wrote:Having visited Ephesus many years ago and meeting my wife in nearby Kusadasi I'm thinking of doing an Ephesian army. That'd be Lysimachus.batesmotel wrote:

So narrowing it down to Lydian, Lysimachus and Attilid Pergamene how easily do the figures morph into each army and who makes the best 15mm figures for this period.
