Soviet Corps Rumania Scenario

Post by Klydon »

So the briefing for the Rumanian Scenario is to capture your initial objectives (which are what?) and "surround" the Rumanians. The scenario mentions something about recapturing Moldavia, so I assume that they are talking between the rivers to start with. Are we supposed to capture both German and Rumanian objectives or just German?

I have captured some German greater objectives and they disappear, so I assume these were potentially objectives that the Rumanians were supposed to take from the Germans after changing sides.

I wish the scenario was a bit more clear on what needs to be done and any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Capture all of the initial objectives, that is, both the German and Romanian flags with gold borders - You don't need to destroy the enemies within the 'circle' that the objectives form.

Once you capture them all (some will vanish), the Romanians will switch side and new objectives will appear all the way at the bottom of the map. - Capture those to win the Triumph. Or ignore them and take a normal victory - it is up to you whether you want to save prestige or not. :)

I destroyed every unit between the circle of objectives as there were tons of Tigers, Panthers, and ATG's that were threatening to my flank. Are these units immobile or should I have avoided them? The units are scared to attack 14 strength T-34/85's or IS-1's so it wasn't much of an issue to just wipe them all out. The Sturmoviks and Tu-2's take care of these units before I even have to engage with ground forces.

By the time the Romanians change sides it is about turn 11 or 12 and they need to take only the weakly defended southern objectives. The Russians have nothing left to fight and nothing is in the pocket, so I sent my artillery and inf down south to help the Rumanians take the cities.

I had to replay this one as I misread the objectives initially and by the time I checked to see why nothing had happened it was way too late to fix. On the second time around, after I had read the briefing properly (twice) the Rumanians changed sides during turn 15. My KV85 with 2 move heroes, a Guards infantry and the captured FW190 who had been in the general area waiting for any counterattack (which never came) just made the difference in reaching and clearing the final city in the lower right of the map.
