Anyone gotten through US Pearl Harbor with more than 1 BB
Is it possible to defend to the point where you have 2 battleships left? Do you go NW with your jeep to get the extra AA and plane from Wheeler or do you go East to Kaneohe where the action is? Do you put your planes on a defensive perimeter where they attack anything that attacks a BB or do you go out to meet them?
Re: Anyone gotten through US Pearl Harbor with more than 1 B
OK, I went West, picked up the VP and Airfield at the bottom left, then went north to Wheeler. This allowed me to bring in an extra plane AND move the AA to the bay early and I was able to hold 3 BBs until the end of the scenario! Immediately I kept my planes close and ringed the bay in AAs but as time went on I had my bomber scouting and chased injured enemies with my fighters. At this point I did some interception and was able to break inbound bombers before they reached the BBs.
Fun replay, however, in the end I think it is irrelevant since the BBs aren't part of my force anyway, non-core, and there isn't any strategic value in anything that isn't specifically a secondary objective.

In this scenario, you can get all objectives by jeep and complete all the missions and get extra rewards. You just need to think. I swear.

Heh, the one time I played this scenario, I got through with one battleship left, with only one strength point! And I said "Hallelujah"!
The next time I play it, though, I will do things this way (SPOILER ALERT):
All the time, to give my opinion on the other question, I would be heading everything toward Pearl Harbor. That is where most of the Japanese planes are headed and if you want to save more than one BB, you got to knock down some of them and prevent them from taking second and third passes.
That last plane on Ford Island? As we saw today in another thread, that plane does not actually appear even when that airfield is activated. It takes a few vital turns to get the jeep onto that island to claim the airfield (the alternative is to take an AA gun out of service to do it). I would leave that for last, if you have time when the jeep returns from Kaneohe Bay.

The next time I play it, though, I will do things this way (SPOILER ALERT):
- First stop is Hickam Field, to activate a P40 fighter. On the way you wake up an AA gun. A two-fer.
Next, head southwest to Kalaeloa Field. On the way, another AA gun, another two-fer on that leg of the trip.
Next, head north to Wheeler AF. Yep, another two-fer.
Now begins the onesies. Head east to Punaluu for an AA gun.
South to Waikane for the last AA gun.
Over to Kaneohe Bay for the final fighter.
