Soviet corps
Made my purchase this morning. Have only started the first scenario but it looks really good. There are 4 or 5 new multiplayer scenarios to play. I will be issueing challenges for some of them later today if anyone is interested in playing. Will be first time for everyone so should be interesting.

Re: Soviet corps
Not for me I worked with developers on helping configure these "Balanced Scenarios" on the Beta. It was so much fun.wolfslair71 wrote: Will be first time for everyone so should be interesting.
They have come up with some really good ones.
My Favorite was Frontline
Simple but oh so much opportunity for mischief.
Summer Offensive was one where I got my a** handed to me by the developers on both sides so it is a fun one.
Ruingrad is one where I handed the developers a** to him both sides. So I very much enjoyed that one.
ZIG ZAG was a lot of fun once we got the bugs out.

Last Man Standing seemed to favor the Germans and i look forward to how they rectified that situation for the final product.
Let me know if you want me to incorporate any of these for the MP Contest, but I hold a significant advantage over the field, so not sure that would be fair...but this is war, so who wants to play fair.

Re: Soviet corps
Coincidentally, Yesterday I received a Matrix/Slitherine discount coupon for being a customer for 9 years.
That was quickly spent on Soviet Corps, of course. Now I just need some free time to actually play it.

Re: Soviet corps
Soviet Corps ruined any fun I was going to have (for the next few days)
No more multiplayer for me, until I can load the patch...max internet usage...again!

Yes these PzC patches are always around 1GB; all inclusive.
I checked out which new unit images have been added since the soviet corps expansion. The list is below. Excluding any new units which possibly recycle existing images, also some direct fire/artillery switching units need two images. The new US captured units are kind of unexpected.
Statistics: There are 73 new images, giving a total of 789 stock unit images!

I'm guessing they are going to be used for US Corps DLC content?Kevin2k wrote:Yes these PzC patches are always around 1GB; all inclusive.

One image that was recycled is for the OT-34, it uses a (renamed) T-34 icon but with different (flamethrower) animation. Strangely, a few of the images in your list aren't used, for example the SE IS-3 icon has no unit that uses it, I'm not sure why. And that new horse transport icon added for the Axis side is already in the equipment file but it isn't activated. The modders will be able to use it easily, though.

Re: Soviet corps
That is correct. A few new capturables for the Americans i requested, as a supplement to the capturable panzers that already were available since Allied Corps.ThvN wrote: I'm guessing they are going to be used for US Corps DLC content?

Re: Soviet corps
Played 4 scenarios today... Japan and Poland were easy, Finland was well designed and reminded me of PG. The Minsk battle was a good one as my first playthrough I became encircled and had to fight out of encirclement. I did well until I overextended in the last turns trying to grab some cities back and found lots of German units just sitting around the cities. I lost 3 core infantry units and a core bomber and had to work hard to keep the Soviet fighters alive until I had killed off 5-6 Me-109's and was able to actually attack the German troops with my core airforce. The Germans would actually attack escorted bombers as the Soviet fighter defense was poor and they could still hit the bombers hard on that attack. I also didn't make it to the bottom for the extra prestige.
I'll have to replay that one and keep my units cohesive. The next one at Smolensk may be interesting as they want me to use trains to evacuate battered units.

Re: Soviet corps
is there any reason to keep all the trains obtained in silver fox? there´s like 10 or somthing sitting in my reserves. I thought maybe I could use them as delay barricades at some point later though not sure if there´s any other use for them...
Re: Soviet corps
Are the trains disbandable for prestige?
If you unload the trains in the game, is there a unit in them? I have not played Silver Fox but it would be cool to have trains of Lend-Lease equipment that need to be unloaded at cities.

There are no Easter eggs in the trains at least from beta testing.
They can be disbanded for 50 quick prestige a train after the scenario, at deployment phase.
I have heard they can be deployed as extra fodder to frustrate German advance as they do not take a slot to deploy, but I think I would rather have 50 prestige.
Silver Fox was a fun little side mission, that I felt helped build up your weak infantry units to gain some much needed experience.
