Scenario Baldiron

Post by demyansk »

I can't win this scenario - I even gave myself a ton of extra prestige points and still was unable to get all the cities.

Anyone able to beat this one in Sea Lion?

Do you mean "Basildon"? I just finished this one on Field Marshal difficulty. It was definitely a grind (I lost two units) but I did not have trouble taking the objectives with a couple of turns to spare. The objectives change mid-scenario; I guessed that this would happen from the map. The left flank is the weakest and most difficult to reinforce. Deploy a Panzer III or IV and an additional artillery piece here and send along some of the Slovaks when they arrive. The map everywhere is mostly close terrain, so deploy plenty of infantry. I left most of my Air Force at home.

The trick is to pull back as close to the river as possible (with infantry placed in cities and close terrain) and defend until Brits run out of steam, than around turn 10/12 strike back with the biggest force at the left flank and just a couple of units on the right and south of the river. I played it twice (on field marshal) and was able to achieve only minor victory though :(
