I'm back to 1.9 since beta 2 is unplayable
Sorry for double posting this in my sound issues post but it's so important for me I decided to start a new post of it here. Of course you can delete my post in sound issues post because this post covers all issues.
I get back to version 1.9 without installing the beta 2 branche and I start about 5 games and did not experience any crash nor on exit of the game. I'm almost sure it have something to do with sound/music settings changed in the beta branche.
The annoying buzz in the background is gone in 1.9 as well and when I return to the main menu from within the game the music stops playing and a new track started without lagging sound in the background.
In 1.9 also I have lot's of background sounds (birds for example) and in beta 2.0 I don't have them anymore.
The province names in 1.9 are very clear and I can read them normal.
Text in 1.9 from tooltips and text in info messages in 1.9 s very clear compared to the semi transparant text/font issues in beta 2.
Tips about menu's I reached for the first time are back in 1.9 in beta 2 I don't have them.
Text/font in all menu's and also the places where buttons in the interface are placed are all much better in 1.9.
Almost everything for me in the beta branche in more wrose then in the main 1.9 version I reverted too.
In 1.9 the main menu picture is very clear and high res compared to the low res backgorund in beta 2.
In 1.9 I have combat history in tactical battle in text window upper right in beta 2 I don't.
In 1.9 I can close/open the small info window in the upper left in 2.0 I can't.
In 1.9 I can zoom in to see the unit graphics in 2.0 I can't.
In 1.9 I can see which unit have moved and which unit haven't moved already because of icons changes in 2.0 I can't.
In 1.9 the tactical battle I can't see all enemy units in fog of war in beta 2 I can see them all.
In 1.9 I get skill info/unit stats info and other info about the state of my units with mouse overs and extra tooltips while in battle and in 2.0 I all have to guess this.
Units shield icons are better drawings and also other info appaers in the unit tokens like health and morale bars. In beta 2 the unit shields are ugly and no other info appares on the unit tokens.
I can't believe fans of the game and internal testing not covered even half of those issues this in private beta.
this is my third or fourth post I made to help improve the game on a forum without very much activity (except for the rock123 thank you for that) and it should be nice if the devs could respond to any of my posts about issues in the game and if they are happy with the suggestions I made and the bugs I report. It encourage me to continue helping to improve the game instead of uninstalling the game and come back next year. Thank you for reading.

Re: I'm back to 1.9 since beta 2 is unplayable
Played another ten minutes and found a small list of major and minor issues in beta 2 compared to EA 1.9 I want to show here in the hope devs, community, beta testers, fans, community and people from Slitherine see this:
In 1.9 they are on the upper left and other info is present on the upper right part of the token. In 1.9 the flags looks clean compared to beta 2 because the border of the flag is missing in the art in beta 2 so it looks very cheap and not finished.
Zoom level ignored in beta 2 in 1.9 I can zoom in to view unit art.
While I play I zoom out and zoom in a bit but I also like to watch the art of the units. I can't zoom in enough anymore to see a clear picture of the unit art. The level you zoomed in by default is too small to see the artwork of the unit tokens. They look merged or very low resolution now the way they are zoomed while in 1.9 I can zoom a bit more and have a nice and clear unit token when I want.
Health/morale bars": These bars don't appear when units are at 100% but for me they don't appear at all.
They don't appear for me in beta 2 at all also not when a unit is damaged. There is lot of other info missing in beta 2. The small attack and move icons on the lower right and lower left of the unit token. The shade/picture overlay when they already moved. The half grey shade when they already moved but did not shoot yet.
In beta 2 for me the nice clean text windows like "uncertain" "defence" and "shaken" do not appear at all. The damaged numbers don't appaer in a small yellow token anymore but are just plain text. The combat is not centered on the units involved anymore and the combat speed is so much faster then it was in 1.9 that you can barely see what happen exactly in a fight.
"no shade when the unit finished his turn": this one i can confirm for sure, and is on the list of things to add to the next patch.
Fine
"info icon on top is not working": also confirmed.
Fine
Battle history log is missing and combat speed is increased so there is no way anymore to see what happened in a tactical fight. The main reason to choose this game for me. All other info is missing as well as I mentioned before. I mean all the info messages and info tooltips like in version 1.9. For example when a unit have charge I get a info message in 1.9 what charge exactly do and I can choose myslef to close or to present that message again.
"No unit info when mouse over unit in initiative bar": Confirmed bug, as is the fact that clicking them does not select them on the map.
Fine. Also The initiative bar is alligned to the left now and not centered anymore. In 1.9 it was. The hero card looks ugly now with the too small hero card and no picture anymore and the too small text.
All enemy units are present at deployment phase. In 1.9 only the tokens are visible. This is part of the fun for me and at least let the player make a choice to present all enemy units before battle start. So no there is no fog of war anymore in 1.9 there was.
Flags on VP and forts are way to big and ugly without border again. Both VP and forts. I can't see VP and forts anymore because of those flags and if a unit is in the same place it looks really like a mess now because it's small flag over big flag without borders on the flags so you can imagine how it looks now.
Missing damage numbers, yellow tokens for damage numbers, missing text info about unit condition. And from the damage numbers the yellow tokens wherein the red damage numbers are present are missing. No text at all.
Besides of that there are way more issues and because I'm so happy you make a serious response now I give you some again:
- Undo button is gone.
- Fight/walk icons on units missing
- Red border around unit to show till where they can walk is missing. Grey part of the map where they can walk and make an action (like shooting) is missing. I only have green over green, no borders and no info icons anymore so it's hard to see what you can do wityh one unit in your turn.
- Half of the artwork on the battle map is missing. Map have a very dirt green color compared to 1.9. There are no mountains, dirt parts and nice drwas fort or VP locations anymore on my map. Just free open source ugly art.
- There is no mouse over info anymore for terrain stats in my game. In 1.9 there was.
- When enemy unit is selected their unit card can't be pinned anymore which makes it impossible to read the mouse over info of their skills or to slowly inspect their stats.
- In 1.9 only tokens from the enemy are visible when deploy turn phase. In beta 2 all units are visbile from start.
- Combat is much slower in 1.9 so you can review enemy actions. In beta 2 it goes so fast that it's just a guess what happened in a turn.
