Creating my own battles

Bought BA and the Mega pack last night, but I didn't get to play around with it much and won't have much of a chance this week.

My question is this.....

I've downloaded all the mods (in game) that I could. If I create my own random battle, can I use units from those downloaded modules?
For instance, if someone created a new M4 Sherman tank NOT in the original game, will I be able to use the player created unit in my own game?

Yes you can, you would need to add it to a custom squads file, and ensure that all the assets for the unit were in the appropriate places in your custom campaign.

So, how does one go about adding it? Is there a step by step process to do this?

There is a lot of info, so I recommend starting small and building up the features in your mod.
