I have read a lot of forum threads about the damage calculation and how it works and for the most part I think I understand it, however I would love an explanation of what the UI is telling me on the right hand side of the screen when you hover over an enemy unit you can attack.
Sadly as I am new to the forum I am not allowed to link to my Steam Screenshot attached showing what I mean, but I'll try to explain. If anyone knows a way to link to screenshot as a new user on here let me know, otherwise can send a link in a message perhaps? I dunno.. but hopefully you'll know what I mean.

So in this example we have a Steel Legion Anti Tank Support squad with a Missile launcher versus Hive Militia with Autopistols, and when I look at the UI to the right hand side of the screen I see the following (I'll just focus on what is relevant to my questions):
+ Enemy unit is on a Building Hex and is two Hexes away.
+ My troops missile launcher shows it will do 5 DMG at 25% ACC. The weapon shoots once.
+ On the right hand side of the UI, all of the green health bar on the Enemy Unit is flashing red.
+ The enemy can't shoot back, they are out of range.
Now to my queries:
+ The DMG detailed here is 5. Based on what I know, that is potential HP damage (not unit strength). Is that correct?
+ Is the 5 damage the total potential damage output or is that the potential damage per shot? (i.e. If this weapon could shoot twice, would it show as 10? Reflecting the potential damage of both shots [5x2]? Or is this just that each shot could do up to 5, meaning the damage range is 0-10?)
+ The ACC is 25%, can someone explain this? I assume it means there is a 25% chance to hit, is that correct? But will it be 25% for each shot fired? (If it was more than 1) Or 25% for the whole attack? (25% for all shots combined)
+ Finally, the HP bar at the bottom for the enemy is all flashing red, showing that this attack will remove all of their health and Kill them. Sometimes however that doesn't happen so I am guessing that this bar reflects the potential maximum damage should everything hit, is that correct? I have used the phrase "potential damage" a lot in the above, is that the right phrase to use when talking about this, rather than a "guaranteed damage"?
My thinking is that if I can understand this battle prediction summary properly, I probably don't need to fully understand all the maths behind it, just the knowing my chances of doing damage and what that damage output could be is enough for planning attacks.
Thanks in advance if anyone can help clarify.
