Single Player won't start

Post by jlkuro99 »

I have been playing single player and multiplayer today. This evening Single Player will not start. It highlights when I hover my pointer over it however when I click on it nothing happens. Multiplayer is working just fine. I am running 1.9.4e. My system is an HP laptop:
Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (10.0, Build 10240) (10240.th1_st1.151104-1714)
Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
System Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard
System Model: HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC
BIOS: InsydeH2O Version 03.60.48F.1B
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2430M CPU @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.4GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM

I tried rebooting however that did not solve the problem.

How to get a DxDiag report file:

1. Click on "START" (on Windows 8 press “Windows key” and the “R” key at the same time)
2. Click "run" (skip this step on Windows 8)
3. Type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. Check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. Click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice

We prefer that DxDiag files be posted as message attachments rather than pasted into the body of the post.

Have you tried starting a new campaign?

I did upload the dxdiag.txt file as the first file. However I didn't see the error message that the extension txt is not allowed. I just changed it to ".log" and it doesn't accept that either. I have zipped it and it uploaded it. As to whether I have tried starting a new campaign the single player mode doesn't even start so I don't get the dialog box for starting a campaign or loading an existing campaign.

Something I do recall is that after I successfully played a turn in a single player campaign I installed the "New Britain Campaign". I couldn't remember if I had installed it already and when it was installing it indicated it was replacing files. Since then Single Player does not work.

Here is a snapshot of my directory structure after installing the New Britain Campaign. I thought about reinstalling OOB:P however I am not sure how to do it since it was installed via Steam.

Rename the folder named "Settings" as "_Settings" in:
...\Documents\My Games\Order of Battle - Pacific

1. First you need to uninstall:
http://ccm.net/faq/41426-how-to-uninsta ... from-steam

2. Rename folder "Order of Battle - Pacific" as "_Order of Battle - Pacific"
...\Documents\My Games\

3. Install game

That fixed it! Thank you! Did I install the "New Britain Campaign" in the wrong folder?

The Battle Britain should be in the Mods folder. :)

Battle of Britain and Japanese bootcamp are custom campaigns, not mods.
Put them in the My Games ... Campaigns folder.
