The Frozen North

Post by Kriegsheld »

A lot of folks seem to play the Frozen North scenario in multiplayer and some other scenarios that seem to come in a package of balanced scenarios. Can someone tell me where to get these balanced scenarios for Panzer Corps? Thanks.

If you have the regular game Panzer Corps and you click on pick a scenario there are the historical ones, and then the balanced ones.
The balanced ones include Frozen North

Ah, yes, now I remember. I have to copy the pzloc and pzscn files into a scenario folder in mydocuments/mygames/panzercorps. Sorry for the trouble. It's been too long since I played.

They are already there, click new game, click scenario, pick balanced scenario Frozen North.

I have never actually done this, but I am assuming that is how it is done.

I found an old post when I asked this same question ages ago, duh! You actually have to move the files into an accessible folder in order to play them in single and hotseat mode. I just did it. Thanks for your help and sorry for the trouble.

Gonna have to try to figure out where that old post is. Never heard of the Frozen North scenario. A new scenario in time for Christmas sounds great. Thanks!

This is from AgentX back in 2011. Follow his directions and you'll be playing those scenarios in no time. Keep in mind, though, the AI does not play well, but it should give you a good feel for the scenarios for when you play a person.

Go to your main program folder and copy the MP maps from the Data folder (Copy both the Pzloc and Pzscn files). There are 10 maps and they are listed below. Then, create a folder called Scenario in My Documents/My Games/Panzer Corps (you'll see other folders in there called Log and Save). Paste the maps inside the Scenario folder. Now, when you start the game, go to the Scenarios Menu and scroll to the bottom. There will be a selection called Custom. Click on that and the maps will show up on a list. You can now play them in Hot Seat Mode. Also, this is where you would put custom SP or MP maps and play them (if interested, there are some custom maps in the Scenario Design section of the forum). There are also custom campaigns, but they require some backing up of files unless you use the Generic Mod Enabler app (highly recommended).

List of MP maps: Battle of the Bzura, Bersaglieri and the Bear, Bocage Breakout, Hunters in the Atlantic, Hylan Valley, Operation Huntress, Partisan Uprising, The Frozen North, Urban Warfare, and War Games.
