which version should I get?
I am a fan of strategy game, but I never touched Panzer series before, I know there're lots DLC available and some are standalone, which version should I get first? any other suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome! You should try the vanilla version first (core game without expansions) :its que quickest and safest, also the easiest, way to start playing this amazing game. DLCs are for experienced players imho since missions have more variety and difficulty is enhanced. Also seems AI is better.

Re: which version should I get?
If I'm not mistaken, a usual Winter/Christmas/New Year Steam sale is coming. I would wait until then and grab the vanilla game and the whole DLC package, or at least the Grand Campaign serieshempy wrote: I know there're lots DLC available and some are standalone, which version should I get first? any other suggestion would be appreciated. Panzer Corp
Panzer Corp - Allied Corps
Panzer Corp - AFRIKA KORPS
These are standalone version pretty much at the same price, whether the original one is the best choice to get?

Thanks for your opinion, does vanilla version mean the original Panzer Corps instead other standalone version?kmod wrote:Welcome! That´s right, vanilla is the original version without DLCs . I would try the standalone version, finish it and then play the DLCs that are incredible fun to play.hempy wrote:Thanks for your opinion, does vanilla version mean the original Panzer Corps instead other standalone version?kmod wrote:Welcome! Beware - if you want to use the Steam version, only Panzer Corps (Wehrmacht) counts as standalone. Allied Corps and Afrika Korps will not be able for purchase if you don't have the base game activated on Steam.hempy wrote:Thanks a lot!tenshin111 wrote:If I'm not mistaken, a usual Winter/Christmas/New Year Steam sale is coming. I would also add that Afrika Korps is much more difficult than the "vanilla" Panzer Corps so you should definitely start with the base game to get the feeling for the rules and game mechanics.

You can get the entire lot for $44 CDN (likely about $32USD) right now on Steam. That's a no-brainer to me.
