[Mac] Creates directory in my home dir? Seriously?

Post by peterb1201 »

On the Mac, the Steam version of Order of Battle: Pacific stores its save games, scenario files, and other metadata by creating its own directory directly in ~. This is kind of like walking into someone's house and putting your mud-stained boots up on their kitchen table. It's poor architecture, and not platform-appropriate. The right place to put this stuff would either be in "~/Library/Application Support/Slitherine/Order of Battle - Pacific" (or some similar path) or, if you REALLY want this stuff to be publicly accessible, "~/Documents/Order of Battle - Pacific".

(1) Is there any way to change this awful, awful, awful behavior - maybe an environment variable or argument provided via Steam?
(2) Are there any plans to fix this in a future patch?
