Are rivers blocking supply routes ?
Are rivers blocking supply routes or just treated as a land hex through which supply can be traversed ?
Re: Are rivers blocking supply routes ?
AFAIK there are just treated as supply hexes.KarlXII wrote:Are rivers blocking supply routes or just treated as a land hex through which supply can be traversed ?

Normal land hex.
Re: Are rivers blocking supply routes ?
Thanks! I suspected that.
Re: Are rivers blocking supply routes ?
But how can supply move over rivers without bridges ?
Re: Are rivers blocking supply routes ?
Supply distribution is simplified. I would prefer it did not flow through mountains, jungle and maybe other difficult terrain.
This would emphasize the control of roads and railroads through these terrains.

Re: Are rivers blocking supply routes ?
Good points. While I love the implementation of supply I find it hard to utilise it against the enemy in an effective way as the system works right now with so many difficult terrains like rivers and djungles which prevents any major encirclements.
If a river required a bridge (which you could build with engineer units) to get/provide supply it would make an excellent improvement. Mountains could also block supplies.
For a further improvement of the game it would be nice if supply outputs (from cities etc) from surrounded areas dropped their sustainable supply level with say 1 point per turn or something like that. It would symbolize having them cut of from supplies and slowly draining their stocks or they could have a fixed amount of turns before their supplies runs out. It would definetely add a new dimension to the game.

Re: Are rivers blocking supply routes ?
Cities/towns don't provide supply unless the designer adds a supply number to the hex.
Any location can be a supply source.
Usually I add 10 supply to cities and 5 supply to towns. This allow cut-off units to defend a city/town and their perimeter, presumably using a stock pile of supply.

Re: Are rivers blocking supply routes ?
Would be great if the developers cold make supply more realistic.
Would definitely add to the game.
