Great defensive videos anyone?
Guys,
do you have / have you seen great defensive videos, such as Germany'43 campaign (Sicily)?
There is a lot of offensive games uploaded, but I am specifically interested in tough defensive scenarios, such as Overlord or Bagration on high difficulty levels

I still plan to do the losing path for the Wehrmacht campaign, I hope around Christmas there will be time for that.

Ha quite the opposite! The 88 was my favourite unit in Panzer General and I tried to make it work in Panzer Corps as well, but I simply could not find a useful role for it.

I tried Bagration once as a fluke just trying the scenario the way it is set up against the computer in order to try and get that elusive Steam Achievement.
I got my a** handed to me.
Any hints?

I played this as the Soviets once and destroyed the entire German force (except a couple of garrisons) within 2 turns. Luckily the AI isn't this capable.

Beating it on the campaign mode with your custom core is very easy. I can destroy the Russians in a few turns with that army and air force.
On the "stock" campaign in scenario mode it is much harder. I have beaten it a few times. Once I had the Russians down to a few units (a few inf and a ISU-152), but mostly you leave a decent mass of them on the map. A lot is dependent on luck of the roll, especially with defenses on the river. The MG inf in the southern river city intimidates the Russians and can hold them for a few turns until artillery comes in range, so keep it in the city and don't attack anything unless it is an artillery piece. The rest of the southern front will dissolve and the middle center city will fall. I usually try and destroy Russian ATG's and tanks in the middle forest while those infantry are alive. The key is concentrating a single battlegroup in the north because the Russians will all head for the bridges and the middle and will not go around the top with anything more than a couple T-34's. Take advantage of the stupid tunnel vision AI and buy a few Tiger 2's and a couple Elefants and keep you Panther and other ATG's and Pzr 4's with them. Let the Russians pass under you and retake the far eastern Russian start point and the German city on the starting river. The Russians will leave an infantry to guard one and the 85mmAA to defend the second. Destroy any Russian unit you can, especially the Is-2's and SU's. The artillery and rocket launchers will smother any city defense so taking those out will only help.
The Russian airforce sucks at the beginning but they cannot destroy the two Bf-109s. They will destroy the 110 so keep it out of the fighter until you weaken the Russian fighters. Destroy the Yak-9U and you'll be left with garbage Yak-7's.
As I said in another post, you will lose all the cities at least once, but you should get them back if you don't overextend your battlegroup. Don't let them isolate units and surround them.

Re: Great defensive videos anyone?
I would like to see players strategies on the ultra-hard stock scenarios. Is Bagration even possible to beat as Germans at Field Marshall and above? Advance to the Elbe is definitely impossible at above Colonel.

Did I hear "impossible"?
By the way I started with the losing wehrmacht campaign tree with a marginal victory in France. But there are that many options/paths. Any preferences what you want to see? I will do only one go.

I would love to see how you handle the single scenario the way it is set up in the game.

Re: Great defensive videos anyone?
Bagration maybe is a little broken, I just took a look and half the army got destroyed before I could even start. The Russians can single shot the mobile ATs and PanzerIVs even when attacking from the river. So I guess the only way is to exploit AI flaws. I don't like that, but I might give it a try anyways.

Oh please, Bracadda. There is a Steam Achievement that I know is possible but have only attempted once and got my a** handed to me and I need some help on strategy.
Oh by the way have you taken my suggestion about testing out the Polish scenario for our upcoming match up for the Multiplayer Championship?
Don't say I didn't warn ya.

Re: Great defensive videos anyone?
Berlin is quite easy to beat, at least on the middle difficulty levels. It could be beat on Field Marshall. You have to abandon most of the map and you'll lose most of the units that are not Berlin or in the north near the American left flank. Retreat the Panthers, Elefant and Panthers to the river and defend a line from the Jadgtiger in the middle to the sea. The Americans will wear themselves down. Concentrate the entire eastern army around Berlin and destroy Is-2's first and then work down the Soviet armor. They have a lot of area to spread prestige to and they will either waste it on American units or a few IS-2's.
Bagration is significantly harder and would be almost impossible at Field Marshall.
Advance to the Elbe cannot be beaten above Colonel on the standard stand-alone scenario settings and equipment. I would be curious is anyone has even tried.
