Unable to login to multiplayer server

Hi all,

I've had this problem for a couple of days now ever since I re-installed BA1 on a brand new PC. When I select the Multiplayer option, the following message is displayed:

The server has been unable to validate your details. Please contact the support forums at http://www.slitherine.com

A few things to mention:

1 - I have tried disabling my antivirus but this makes no difference
2 - The Multiplayer option works just fine on BA2 and I'm able to login to the server
3 - I've tried resetting my password. Again, this makes no difference

At a loss now as to how to fix the fault and would appreciate some help.

Try deleting the OPTIONS.TXT file in My Documents/My Games/BBCBA in case there was an error storing your login details.

Hi Pip - there's still no update from tech support on this issue and it's taking forever to get to the bottom of. Is there any way we can expedite it?

We are working on it behind the scenes. It looks most like a firewall or other connectivity issue.

Do you see the content in the launcher when you first start the game?

Hi all,

Well it's been a month since I posted the original topic and I'm still unable to play Battle Academy. In defence of Slitherine they have been investigating the issue on my behalf and the support team have been in contact with me periodically over that time, but keep drawing a blank. I would have expected the problem to be resolved by now.

I have a new PC running Windows 10. My old PC was running Windows 7. I'm using the same anti-virus. Apart from the two flavours of OS there's no difference in my set-up, and yet I'm refused entry to the multi-player server.

I own the game plus all expansions and only ever play multi-player so am pretty much screwed right now.

Can any of the wider community offer any advice please?

have you tried running it in compatibility mode?

adding the game to the anti virus and firewall white list, eg safe list etc?

uninstalled the game and run ccleaner to get rid of all traces of the game, reboot and re install and patch it to latest version and re try?

making sure it installed in a game folder and not in c:\ program files 86 etc, install it instead to C:\ games or something else
