Difference betwee France* and France maps.

Post by BreakingMad »

Hello! I've just started my All-Decisive-Victories walkthrough of the main campaing, and as far as i know there are two different maps for France (mission after Low Countries), so what the exact differences of these maps?

One path pits you against the French, the other against the British. Each path includes a very difficult scenario: Wassigny on the French path, Arras on the British path. Wassigny is an unusual scenario in which large numbers of enemy units materialize out of thin air "behind the lines," but if you focus on the main objective and avoid overextension, it is not hard to win a DV--the main question is how many units you will lose in the process. Arras is more straightforward but (in my experience) more difficult. I achieved a DV the last time I played it, but (I confess) only by playing the final turn twice.

Hello BreakingMad, in the Wehrmacht campaign the difference between France and France* is only there to prevent the player from going to SeaLion40 in case the Low Countries is a MV (Marginal Victory). The France* scenario actually uses the same scenario file as France, so the map, dates, units etc. are all identical.

This whole setup is necessary to make sure the SeaLion 40 path is only possible with a DV in Low Countries and a DV in France*. An MV in Low Countries will send you on a path that leads to Greece.
