request game status update

Well since it's holiday sale time and every year i look at other era's to wargame in to try beyond my WW2 obsession. I 've looked at FOG before but never pulled the trigger. Been reading the posts here and its kinda hard to know WTH is going on. From what i gather FOG is getting redone/upgraded? That it might or might not be close to re-release. Is there any one place to go to read about the improvements from the last version? maybe its around and i just didn't find it. Are there any screenshots, video's or anything showing what the updated version looks like. Does the current[old?] version run on windows 7/10? will i be automatically upgraded to a new version? What's the system specs for the new version? I read maybe it will be on steam.Can any kind soul fill me in or point me in the right direction. Any screens or video's on what the new version looks like.

It was supposed to come out awhile ago but got delayed. It is now apparently really, really, really close (which is probably true as the new version is playable and looks very good, just hasn't been officially released. It will have a ton of new features and an entirely new system behind it. 2 expansions are already done and ready as well once it is released.

The new 2.0 version will be available as a free upgrade for those with the original game. It currently and will definitely run on Windows 7/10 and the specs will be similar to that on the original version's product page. Not sure if it will be on steam but for how much depth the game has it is well worth the modest price it is (without expansions).

It really is a great game and has a great community. The lack of response to your thread is due to the frustration that the new version hasn't come out yet. I strongly encourage you to at least buy base game and see if you like it.

Thank you for the reply. Is there a feature list or screen shots anywhere to look at for the new version? You'd think if it was real close there would be more info released about it.Every Holiday sale i look at FOG, been hoping they would bundle the whole thing up, but no dice. Well the sale is until January so i have some time to decide. Another question i have the D.A.G. isn't mentioned as a feature of the base game, is it included in the base game? I can confirm that the base game have the D.A.G. because I just bought the base game But there are only two army in D.A.G list : Mid-Republican Roman(early) and Later Carthaginian(In Italy).

Hello guys,

Yes, it is happening. I am finishing the next v2.2.01.2014 build, with a complete rework for the PBEM server authentication flow (to prevent the game getting authentication errors if the user introduced its newly acquired base serial directly into the game, without registering it first to its Slitherine account, to allow things like users registration from within the game, automatic serial registration and so on). I do not know if I would be able to finish it tonight, but it would be ready and posted online no later than tomorrow evening.

Slitherine would get the same build too, and it should really be the last modification required by them before finally giving it a green go for the launch.
