How are people finding the swarm of light horse approach faring?
Is 6 by 4 enough table space to push 40 odd bases of horse archers around and get a positive result?
I have a fair few catapracts frm my seleucid army and thinking of morphing it into Parthian.

I almost specifically excluded the LH combo armies and from memory there were quite a few armoured and protected cav to give it a bit of punch.
From memory you had 5 BGs of LH horse archers and about the same of shooty cav.
I am thinking of the lists that dont have the Cav/LH options like parthian (or perhaps skythian or palmyran - dont know these lists.)
I guess you really need to depend on the terrain and hence an IC is a goer.

About how long did the game last? Did it play to a decisive conclusion?hammy wrote:My army at the club last night had 7 BGs of superior bow sword LH and 4 of cavalry although only two of those were armoured and only one was lancers. There was plenty of room to work with on a 6 by 4.
Sounds like a great match up--Huns versus Kushans
We didn't complete the game but were playing in a very laid back fashion with regular chats with other club members and such. We played for about 3 hours and at the end of that time the Huns were 6 AP to 3 up but there was a BG of disrupted elephants fighting a BG of nobles to the front and light horse to the rear, a BG of light foot were disrupted and pinned in a very nasty possition right infront of a BG of LH and the Kushan camp was 2 turns from falling.daleivan wrote:About how long did the game last? I suspect that had I been playing at tournament speed that the game would have been over in 3 hours and the final result would have been a broken Kushan army and no more than 4 AP on the Huns.

I've tried Parthian outside of comp and it's perfect;y fine on a 6x4
