Hmm, from my reading of the rules, the shot on the Panther is correct (side armor). In order to be rear armor the Ami tank would have to be one square forward (based on that picture).

"Heavy Vehicle Targets: When
attacking a heavy vehicle, draw LoS
through one edge of the vehicle (to
the center of a square) and use the
defense shield on that edge."

According to the above, it would be the side IMO.

Another BUG, from the British Campaign. Sometimes the Bren will take opportunity fire on the Hanomag, sometimes it won't. There is no rhyme or reason to this except that the whole implementation of opportunity fire broken.
