Reform destroyed units

Somebody remind me please how to reform destroyed units. When must it be done?

You must click the reform button in the advance tab before you start a campaign.

You may be able to do it after you finish a scenario but it will only take effect for new scenarios,

The unit that was destroyed will automatically return at the start of a new scenario, but you need to reinforce it from Zero.
