Map Icons?

I'm playing the Java Sea scenario as the Japanese. There are red boxes with arrows pointing off map at the Northern map edge. These are Japanese exit points.

There are green boxes with arrows pointing off map on the Western map edge at the bottom, and a gold box on the Eastern edge pointing on-map? What are these for? I couldn't find any reference about them anywhere!

As to the black flags, this is the only game I own that doesn't recognize my integrated graphics! I'm not going to buy a new computer to get rid of the black flags!!!

We are looking into the black flags issue. This was introduced in an update to the game (in which we made it possible to mod the flags). We're not ignoring it.

Thank you for addressing the black flags! What about the boxes and arrows in my first post?

Green would be exit hexes for the US, and golden would be for the Japanese AI units (the colour of the exit hexes corresponds to the colour of the alliance)
