visualrob wrote:Zakblood is correct. I'll try to explain how things (should) work in multiplayer, right now:

1) If you lose a multiplayer game, nothing is awarded. This also means that nothing is subtracted, if you end up with negative points.
2) If you win a multiplayer game, your "multiplayer wins" counter is incremented, and you're awarded all the points you won.
3) If a multiplayer game is tied (noone is able to reach the objective), the player who reached the most points (kills) wins, and is awarded the points. The other player loses and doesn't get anything.
4) If a player retires, you should be notified, you will win and you'll get the points.
5) If we delete a game because it's expired, noone gets the points.
6) You should always be able to see the "Mission End" screen.

Some things can definitely be improved. For example, Waltero is right: showing the points to the loser leads him to believe he's getting points, while he's not. We'll try to change this.
Point 5) is unjust, and we'll see if we can technically give a penalty to the player who let the game expire and award points to the other.
We're receiving a lot of feedback about Point 6). It seems that some players are not notified about the end of the game.
It seems we're unable to reproduce this problem. Can some kind player help us with this? Are you able to come up with an instance in which you were not notified of the end of the game? Can you tell us what the game was (opponent and date)?

Thank you!

I don't know what to tell you. I do not receive points on a tie game, me being successful.
The last Scenario (MacGuffin) I played I won...no points awarded. When I eliminate all enemy units, except one tank, vs his losing all units with the exception of one tank and killing only two of my units...I had to beat the tie breaker...for sure.
What you are telling me is; Every game that I (my personal score) did not achieve objective victory, I lost (ties and all).

Games: 17 wins (no tie...wins) I know these were outright (completed objective) wins because I have been keeping track.
Score: 17,675
I average about 1,000 points per game (games that I win outright). I have finished well over 45+ games. According to you, I have never broke a tie...

On occasion (rarely) I do receive a replay of the last turn, not every game. I do receive notice of games end, via email.
But I will be more precise and send you some feedback on future games.

Just this second: This happened twice. I believe two games were set up as a test to see what was going on. Replay seemed to work but the point system...no worky, worky.

OK, it looks like the replay is working (this time), But I still do not receive points. My opponent Resigned.
Game; "successful mission", 1,000 + another 1,000 (2games) points should have been awarded to meeeee :(...I get the usual zilch, zero, nota, Booo!

I noticed when I entered replay then went back into the menu screen, my points were back down to my older score?

Minus the "four thousand" points I missed out on yesterday :( (Three or four players resigned).

That is your scoreboard, not mine. :P

fair enough, you asked, no more score updates

but as the score goes up, it means that at least some are being recorded as a win, others as explained aren't, if you re load games in a match / online to gain a better dice roll, for any reason it won't be and may make that score be null and void, no idea what protection the servers have for it either, just a guess, as you have commented on it enough.

but ill update the score no more as you asked so nicely

Go ahead and keep "your" scorecard updates.

I have been playing this game non-stop for 9+ days strait. My Score ("your" scorecard) is false.
I am missing no less than 25,000 (more like 40,000) points...really!

For the Record; I have never, ever reloaded a multiplayer game, with the intention of acquiring a hit where a miss was given.
Few of my games have been reloaded, only come to find out later...

I can deal with missed points, I can deal with cheaters. I have a list of players I will no longer play games with, due to resigning, reloading etc. Why some ass would resign a game just to deny his opponent from collecting points is beyond me.
But when you are dealing with online gamers, you will run into all kinds.

Slitherine really needs to notify players when a game (their game) has been reloaded...too many cheaters in the gaming world today...don't blame them entirely, they might pick it up while playing against the AI- reload, reload trying to gain a top score.

I had enough, going to look elsewhere for my enjoyment. It was fun while it lasted.

Thanks
Walter

sorry to see you go, i'd wait for some updates and other cool stuff that will be coming later if i was you, did you finish the whole game before online then?

i'm not going to do more updates as will be knocked off at last maybe next week so someone else can then take over until they get beaten, i'm on other projects atm so don't have the time to play much, too much testing to do

you was my last match
