Transport ability?

I just tried a larger (6 map) scenario and purchased the Mechanized tile for the infantry (which grants 2 Halftracks). I don't see any mention of the transport ability for these units.

Considering that transport is an important component of those units, are there any plans to implement this ability in the (near) future?

Yes, among the (few) abilities which are missing from the video game, "transport" has top-priority.

We will not implement the full transport ability of the board game, but a small simplification we agreed with Devil Pig Games, so that the ability does not complicate too much the interface. But you'll still be able to load/unload your infantries and carry them around :)

At the moment we have to address at least a few bugs, the difficulty level thing, and a couple of usability suggestions we received on the forum. And at the same time we're developing the editor, and a couple other features.

The transport ability will be the first to be implemented, but it still has to wait.

Thanks for the info. Hopefully the transport will fulfill the same role as the board game (which is pretty darned forgiving with the way transport works ;) ).
