One Steam product key for both Mac and PC?

Post by Fronturlauber »

Hi,

I bought the game on Steam for my PC and now I installed it on my Macbook as well. Once installed, the game asks for a serial key at the start screen. Is it allowed to use one key both on Mac and PC and where do I find this key? I searched on Steam in the games links and in properties for it but I didn't find any serial or key.

Thank you!

Are you starting the game through Steam (instead of double clicking the app file)? Did you have any previous (beta) version installed on that Mac?

No beta version installed ever.
First I installed the game from Steam on the Mac. I was asked for serial key input once I started the game. The serial input field is not in Steam but shows once the game starts. Its is part of the games UI.
Next I deleted the game files in Steam and installed manually (dmg file) according to instructions I found here in the forums. Once I start installed I game again the same serial key input show up.

Thank you

I'm not sure what the problem is, but a few general guidelines:
  • Whether you launch the game through Steam or directly from the .app, Steam must be active and logged in. OoBP needs to be marked as "installed" in your library of course.
  • Some Macs have issues with Steam overlay so rightclick on the game listed in the Steam library, select Properties and disable the Steam overlay checkbox.
  • Try deleting the "Order of Battle - Pacific" folder in /Users/<your username>/. This will clear any data made by the game.
