Mac OS X: Game Freeze upon Multiplayer

Post by TeTeT »

Hello,

just purchased the game last week via Steam for the Mac. I've now setup a multiplayer match with a friend. The first turn (I play the German side) went well, my friend on a PC could do his turn, but now the game freezes when I load the multiplayer turn. I hear the sound (wind, battle noise), but I cannot scroll anywhere and the upper right hand side indicator states Allies. I can still quit the game from the Mac taskbar. Any suggestions on how to proceed with our multiplayer battle?

I'm sorry but we have been having issues with the multiplayer server since Friday.
Our web admins are still looking at the issue.
We apologize for all the inconvenience.

Thanks, but the problem was not the outage of the multiplayer server, but something that went wrong in the multiplayer game itself. As written above, the game basically freezes and needs to be quitted from the task bar.

Hello, Tetet.

Sorry you are having issues. Can you tell us when does the game freeze more exactly? During the replay of the opponent's move? If so, you can try uploading output_log.txt file found in the bulge_Data folder. Just load the game with the problem again, and let it freeze. When it freezes, close the game (ALT + F4 or whatever works for you), zip the file and upload it here.

We are aware of some issue with the Multiplayer games, we actually fixed it but it is not yet live, I am not sure if you are experiencing the same issue that we fixed.

Thanks!

I think it's stopping during the opponent's move, the allied player moving in the upper right corner might be indicating that. I can't find a bulge_Data folder on my system, it's Mac OS X with steam. I have the "Battle of the Bulge.app" in my Applications directory, but the rest is kind of hidden behind steam (open steam://run/365560). I don't actually know where the game info is stored. I found Library/Saved Application State/unity.Shenandoah Studio.Battle of the Bulge.savedState but there's no output_log.txt in it.

BTW we started another multiplayer game and that works fine so far.

Just a few minutes ago the second game locked up. During my turn (allies), I saw the axis move execute and then it seemed like a pass turn for me. But when my opponent now opens the game, it says allied turn.

Hello TeTeT,

The game freezing during the multiplayer will be resolved in the next patch (1.15) which will be released at the end of this week.

Thank you for your time and patience, we really appreciate it!

Cheers
Alex
