Losing heroes during game

I keep track of my units in a simple but effective self made Excel sheet and have up to date status of units - a Panzergrendier 43 has lost its hero Neumann for +1 initiave.

I recall to have read in the forum that it is not possible to lose heroes during the game, is that correct?

I cannot find the proper topic (sorry ), but believe it was one of the admins that told me...

Are you sure it didn't die and you replaced it or a different Panzer grenadier has the hero?

"didn't die" - you mean is in "destroyed"? No, it did sustain heavy damage, going from 14 down to 7 points.
The question is - does (any) damage also include possible loss of heroes?
Even if a unit ends up with only 1 point remaining during battle, does it still retain its 1, 2 or even 3 heroes?

Definately no mixup of units...

Only if a unit is entirely removed from the map will the heroes vanish. And if you use reform units, they survive with the unit.

I'm going to suggest that it was possibly a bug - other than that I don't know?

Ok.... I havent used the reform unit option (yet).
Will keep track of other events like this...
