Few ideas

Post by Stephen1024 »

Devs

I like see order of battle pacific really grow.

I like historical campaigns but I really like see tactical map that gives us the freedom move our armys where we want.
An example of idea I had I like see if works is to move forces from india take back burma then use those soldiers in 2 directions first would need take deep water port and airfield in thailand, while bigger army makes a long march over to russia then swing around for attack on manchuria. Manchuria gave japan lot of resources that it required, most good soldiers in mancharia where moved to the front. Would be fun see how quickly war could be won in the pacific.

I know to make it possile would mean redeploying the american pacific fleet to thailand coast, which would draw out japanese fleet be massive to death fleet battle. but I knock italian fleet out with british med fleet then move the british med and pacific fleet after destruction of italian fleet up to philippines area then come in behind attacking japanese fleet as blocking force stop japanese withdrawing.

As for europe I wouldn't of landed at normandy, I would landed in norway as ruse, hitler believe it be commando attack move my main landing force down on north of germany. Most of hitlers units be in france waiting for nothing, Few days later I drop paras into alps and make landing southern france move fast to cut top of italy off. It would seriously throw lot problems for germans as they move there army in france north protect germany then feel real landing had happened in southern france divide there forces.

Don't see point getting stuck in bocages nor do I see point of long winded fight through to germany. Attacking well defend coast is stupid when there lots places that can be attacked.

Also if you can do all fast you end war and soviets haven't gained much and would still be weak, therefore cold war wouldn't be in stalins interest. It possible that if soviets where problem to then launch an attack in russia from 3 sides manchuria and from germany and from norway. from manchuria you could cut of oil and industral parts russia, while from germany attack main citys of stalingrad and moscow, while from norway you cut city's off from north. War would be fast blitzkrieg war if done fast right you could win the cold war to.

But to date not had freedom of game I enjoy giving me a tactical map I got freedom to exploit.

I also like see some grand historical campaigns with few what if thrown in.

Interesting campaign that historical is the burma area as that would be hard campaign it was seen as side show both the british and americans had very little in way of men and resorces.

burma campaign would see the taking of burma malaya and singapore, all the allied armys manage take back was burma, you could throw in battle of madagascer to. Would be interesting campaign as can you take back all that was lost with such minimal resources that area had.

that campaign had few tanks not much merrill's marauders, chindits, force 136 and OSS detachment 101, indian and gurkha african regiments few british, chinese loaned few troops to there, karan people, 1st air commando group.

Would seriosly be slug fest and very hard campaign but would be fun to try.

other campaigns in pacific would be mcarther campaign and nimitz campaign for the americans in pacific.

Japanese campaign I make grand start it with the first battle between china and japan then have sino japanese war which japs won and have that extend through the years to reach australia.

once in europe I suggest total british campaign which would include germanys taking europe, norwiegian campaign (norway british had plan would be interesting what if) battle france battle britian battle of the atlantic( germany plan Z makes interesting what if for that part) battle mediterrean balkans campaign, malta story, aegean sweep north africa upto operation torch, east african campaign againest the italians, iraq/ syria-lebannon/ iran campaigns.

Lot those not covered by most games so make lot new fun new ideas.

then you can have normal historical allied campaign extends the british campaign in africa and europe.

Italian campaign would cover spain north africa bulkans and east africa (if successful what if)

Soviet campaign you need to soviet invasion of xinjiang 1934, and 1937, soviet-japanses border conflicts 32-45, finnish winter war then standerd historical campaigns we all know ending at berlin.

German campaign spain throught to complete defeat of allies and also historical path. I also add few what if like jets early and V! and V2 can germany turn tables so late in war with help jets. What if wevel planned strat bomber had been built and what if plan Z had been built.

But for lot this your going need change supply system bit so it little slower at been a pain when surrounded, or for units behind enemy lines. Also add air supply units and let us buy supply ship to. can we pleace let engineers, seabees build small port or airfields.

I hope that give you few ideas and give others few points to chat about.
Have fun all love the game so far.

Adding a dynamic "grand strategy" campaignmap is very unlikely to happen for the initial (WW2) Order of Battle series, but many of the campaign suggestions you made have been considered or are already in production. More information on the first upcoming DLC should be coming in about a month.
