I have seen this also. Curiously, it only happens with the RAF fighters attacking the German attack force from Scandinavia. So far that I've seen anyway.

I've had this. The attack animation/sound is missing, but the defender may take hits as usual.
Click on the defender after the attack and it will probably have lost some strength.

Ok, I've also found that the values are subtracted without sound and animation. An error it is always and should be eliminated, right?

I had this anomaly also, with the bombers arriving from Norway...

Same here. You can shoot them down and they are still on the screen!
