Generals with BG in Difficult Terrain

Post by JimmyThePict »

If you have a general with a MF BG in difficult terrain is the group restricted to the LH movement of the general rather than the MF movement?

If so, can you move the MF BG first (for it's move) and the general as a single column with move and get the 1 MU extra for moving in column in slowing terrain?

Cheers Aye

IF the commander is with a battlegroup then he moves with them (at their speed)
It's on page 49 of the rules, although it is not very explicitly stated.

If he moves on his own he is restricted to light horse speed. This is explicitly stated on p 49.

Not sure about this one, but it looks as though a commander would count as a column and get the extra 1 MU.

From a historical point of view it would be surprising if a few men on the best horses money can buy could not move as fast as a column of several hundred light cavalry "troopers".
