Barbarossa '42
Dear Crew,
I've been wanting to upload my Barbarossa '42 campaign for some time. The scenario begins after Germany has blitzed its way through Europe and after a successful Op Sea Lion. It took the rest of '41 to secure Great Britain and now the RAF is limited to pointless raids on Northern Scotland and on Southern Italy from Malta. The Afrika Corp has taken Cario and the Suez and sits in Baghdad as well. The Wehrmacht is now supercharged and upgraded for a fight (granted I got last second upgrades options just as the weather changed favorable - but I opted to attack Russia instead)

Re: Barbarossa '42
looks hopeless for the allies, sounds like you are about to score middle east oil.

ARMY GROUP NORTH
DOW on May 8, 1942. Oil Reserve 1200
AGN smashes the red army across the border and drives to isolate a small army N. of the Niemen River. The cities of Kaunas and Vilna are quickly overrun and Brest Litovsk is neutralized. Riga and Minsk are the next main targets. The High Seas Fleet is upgraded and is to be sent into the Baltic Sea the next turn. So far so good!

AGC has modest gaines. Brest-Livotsk is taken after the Luftwaffe is able to pave the way for the Panzers and ground forces. Just as the real deal, the Pripet Marshes are slow going so will direct forces around the bog. The AI loves to send its forces into this mess and perhaps this would make for a nice encirclement.

Don't want to be unkind, but the allied deployment around Minsk is not terribly impressive. You should play me. I can promise you some extremely unpleasant surprises.
Re: Barbarossa '42
Oh it's AI, no wonder. You could probably beat the AI using just Italian forces.

ARMY GROUP SOUTH
I've always felt that AGS has had one of the more difficult objectives. Odessa, just as in history, is a real thorn in the side. Russian forces are however pushed back and destroyed as Chisinau is taken. Note the encirclement of the 15th, 11th, and 37th rifle corps - I spent this turn upgrading the infantry Corp that borders them to the west so that they can destroy this Army next turn. Clausewitz always emphasized that forces need to concentrate not dissipate and so will have AGC and AGS come together to take Vinnitsa next turn and push on to Kiev.

Yes, sorry I should have mentioned this was an AI battle. I agree that the AI is not very good. Love your comment about the Italians.
