BHGS Doubles
Next up (apart from all of the other events which are taking place, but excluding those that aren't) is the BHGS Doubles,
The 2015 competition will be held on 24th/25th October in Abingdon
At the 2015 FoW Pairs and FoGR Doubles Weekend there will be one Field of Glory Renaissance period of Doubles, with two players commanding one army:
The period will be ‘Early Doors’, any army, any book from 1570-1609, no more than one BG with Muskets, each army must have at least 6 bases of foot battle troops per heavy or medium artillery base.
Army Size, 900 points
Games will be 3 hours 25 mins plus a 1-15 min(s) variable
Saturday 0915-1240, 1400-1725
Sunday 0900-1225, 1330-1655
http://www.bhgs.org.uk/bhgs-doubles--pairs.html for booking information
Currently we have only a smattering of bookings:
Will & Pete
Nigel and a TBC (if he can find a friend)
Dave (Fairhurst) & Alasdair
As the venue is shared with a (pretty popular) Flames of War event it would be good to see bookings coming in from those who plan to attend, as otherwise we are getting close to being "full" for FoW, which will lead to pressure on tables allocated to FoGR

Re: BHGS Doubles
Please add to your list:
David Hewkin & Brendan Morrissey
Paul Marsh & Kevin Smith
We should be booked in officially within the next couple of days (I've just come back from holiday and one of the other pair is away at the moment).

Re: BHGS Doubles
Be nice to get 8 pairs though. We had 12 last year, IIRC (I should do, as I was 12th - unless that means I was really, really, really bad........).

Re: BHGS Doubles
yup, 12 last year - however with a few holidays this year taking some of the regular teams out, and FoW booking much more quickly we have room for a max of 8

Just registered the two teams from Wessex Wargames Society, so you're up to 5 pairs now (3 tickets left as of this moment).

Re: BHGS Doubles
That's me and Gordon registered.
I suppose it's possible Gordon had already registered us, but with such a very small possibility I'd rather double book than miss out.

Re: BHGS Doubles
Jerry Bray has had to drop out so Paddy is looking for a partner for the Doubles.

Re: BHGS Doubles
One of our chaps (Kev Smith) has had to drop out, so Paul Marsh is trying to contact Nigel Emsen to complete a pair. What are the rules on refunds, as I've paid for two teams from WWS and now there'll only be one?
(Nigel - If you're reading this, Paul is trying to contact you; also, we're having a practice game at WWS on September 13, the day after Colours if you want to join us.)

Transfer window is busy isn't it!
Good thing Pete and I are third division (or maybe conference) players and no one wants us!

Re: BHGS Doubles
I think the runners and rider are now:
Will Denham Pete Simpson MKWS
Nigel Emsen and someone else Solent Quick Play Rules
David Fairhurst Alasdair Harley Oxford Witney
David Hewkin Brendan Morrissey Wessex Wargames Society The Double Ones
Paddy Bray and someone else Oxford The Brothers Now Quite So Grim As They Were Before
Dave Allen Gordon Jamieson Central London Mercenary, but cheap
Paul & Kevin's entry has been refunded, and no-one called Bob has entered as yet...

If it stays at six pairs, and we started early enough to get three games in on Saturday......
