2 Questions - Dashboard & Single Player

Post by jdarocha »

Hello All,

1. Is there a way to minimize the dashboard at the bottom of the screen when I am moving units around, so that it slides out of sight temporarily?

2. When I play an individual scenario the default side is US. Can I play a single scenario as the Japanese? If so, how?

Thanks in advance

2) The scenario needs to be designed with the AI controlling the US using a number of triggers/events set up in the editor.

After you have played the Japanese campaign, the scenarios in this campaign should be 'unlocked' and you can play the single campaign scenarios as Japanese vs the AI-controlled US. You select Single Player in the main menu, then the Scenarios tab.

So on the basis what you say Erik scenario cannot be played in hotseat mode if it has not at least 2 human players already set in the editor?

Scenarios with only 1 human player is not displayed in the hot-seat scenario list.

But you can open the scenario in the editor, change the AI to human, save with a different scenario title and file name, then play hot-seat.
Note that there would probably be no victory objectives, briefings etc for the previously AI-player.
So one player would only fight to to deny the other player his/her objectives.
Not ideal...

Based on the conversation going on, can you change the scenario through the editor, so that in Hot Seat mode, the AI plays against itself? Now that I would like to see!
Also, what would be interesting would be too watch human players play against each other in multiplayer mode. It would be neat if there was a Spectator mode so that you could join a multiplayer game but only watch it like a movie instead of participating in it..

What about my dashboard question, can you minimize the dashboard?
Halder (thanks for guys for a great game)

I was thinking about watching AI against AI too. Not that I tried to make it happen but I think it is possible in singleplayer. You add two AI's against each other and you add player (yourself) allied with one of the AI's. Maybe having just one unit on the map for yourself somewhere so it won't get killed.

Or just a Replay function. A file you can actually share after the match is over showing what happened in the game without waiting times.

Not sure but didn't find a way to do so.
