Very accurate decripton of the battle. I though I had him beaten, but his cavalry (very well handled!) rolled up my flank.
What? Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!

I have heard rumours of a thing called the "Great Rebellion Royalist forum". As a Royalist am I supposed to be part of this? Or has our valiant CinC given my membership to his spaniel to play with?

The Slitherine elves are currently on holiday. I will ask them to add you to the list when they are back.

Result from the mid-East.

rbodleyscott (Parliament) 18% won vs Turenne (Royalist) 43% (25% difference)

A hard fought battle in which the terrain played a part, the action mostly taking place over and near a large stream, but in the end it came down to hard fighting.

Thanks Turenne for the game.

Thanks for an interesting game Waldorf. I thought I had a chance when your center thinned out and I got some cavaliers through but it didn't work.

Yes - I've been caught out on the flanks before by Royalist cavalry so I decided to move decisively against both flanks and essentially split my army in two. We were lucky that we managed to gain superiority on our right quite quickly so we could return to plug the centre. It was a risky strategy and it could easily have gone against me.

Result from the NE, Warlord 13, Doyley50 47. Alas, a victory for Parliament. I had plans of my right flank cavalry sweeping around and rollling up the Roundhead line, but Warlord ruined my cunning plan by his skilled placing of infantry, and my centre and left flank just seemed to melt away.

Yes touch and go for a while, I was surprised at how quick the Royalists folded once the Parliamentary foot/ horse combo engaged the Royalist line.
I managed to skirmish the Cavaliers away from the main action in the centre.

News from Northwest and Anglia!!! A blooded rider has just arrived at our most dour headquarters, sporting sword cuts, powder burns and poodle bite marks

Parliament is victorious in both Northwest deadtorius 50% Ironclad 61% and in Anglia deadtorius 39% Ironclad 63%!! There is much rejoicing and ringing of bells as the tyrants power slowly slips and England slides ever closer to eternal dourness.

Thank you Ironclad for 2 very enjoyable games. We fed the dogs of war to the point of gorging themselves, your poodles will need to diet after this one.

It was very touch and go as in both battles Ironclad was able to get his cavaliers through my lines, even hedges would not stop their shiny steeds, flowing glowing locks and rabid poodles as they smashed my cavalry, but in Anglia I had enough reserves to shoot up and stop his pursuit from wreaking havoc in my rear. In both battles Parliament foot won the day, no matter how many poodles were tossed at us.
Break out the bibles and prepare for some reading groups, dour is on me lads Huzzah!!
