Crash when saving game

Post by Galaktor »

Hello,

I've just bought the game on steam, and W40k Armageddon was just installed (yesterday)

I have the game crashing when trying to save the game.

- I use the french langage option
- I have the grid turned on (slight grey)
- I made all the tutorial games (and saved a game once successfully)
- This happen at the end of the tutorial when I have to choose between counter-attack or investigating the hive.
- I choose to investigate the hive
- The battle begin (the interface has just finishing loading)
- I'm clicking on the save button
- I'm putting some text (it was ludovic 003)
- Then the game crash (report, etc.)
- It happens everytimes.

I've tried to push my test a bit longer.
- I deployed my units and made my first round battle.
- Then i click on end of turn
- The computer played
- Then I'm trying to save but the game crash again.
- It happens everytimes.

Any idea ?

Thanks a lot.

Ludovic

PS : The saved games. The DWDiag and the error.log (zipped)
PS2 : And sorry for my english ;)

Please try the following:

Uninstall the game and delete the folder named Warhammer 40,000 Armageddon in the Windows documents folder at:
....\Documents\My Games\
Reinstall the game, but this time install in a different Steam library folder. Don't install in a C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam...., install for example in C:\Games\Steam\.....

On how to add a new Steam library folder please check the guide presented on the site below:

I reinstalled the game in another folder as you said. The problem is still here.

However, I've found a workaround (the error.log helps me). The game suggests a save name with a comma (maybe specific with french translation ?). It is just necessary to delete the comma and the saving process is fine.

Hope it helps.
Thanks.

Confirming the issue. The problem occurs due to invalid french characters in some french localization files.
The french localization can not be considered playble until the next patch.
The workaround is to name your saved games by your own, or use the quicksave.

Yes the "french savebug" is still here, just add something to the scenario name and it works :D

Unfortunately, I always have problems playing in French :(
You have to resign yourself to playing in English.
