Re: "Kaiserschlacht" WWI Mod v3.0 (Jun 7, 2015)
Somehow I survived.
The scenario before Georgette (Operation Michael I think) gave me an odd result. I had captured all of the objectives, as required, but didn't get the DV. More puzzling was that I had a couple of planes next to the airfield near the top right corner, which showed the German flag, yet both ran out of fuel on the final turn. Arras was the dispiriting nightmare it was designed to be - maybe even worse with all those strategic bombers which weren't in the previous one - but somehow I ended up with 9 surviving units. Mons was relatively easy in comparison once I had a routine for checking ammo, looking for surrender targets and ensuring I kept a reasonable number of badly damaged enemy units next to my troops to stop them attacking. I got enough surrender prestige to buy a couple of extra light artillery and another two infantry. Luckily the British artillery never got into range. I also survived the revolution (on the third go - once I'd worked out that for troops quantity was more important than quality and started buying 1914 infantry, and for starting positions, quality was much more important than quantity so I deployed in defensible positions). I managed a DV on the last turn.
I was playing on General with Reform units on, but maybe needed the prestige at 125 or 150%, as even in the Middle East I was struggling to maintain experience. I think I got two artillery pieces to 3* before everything went downhill, but nothing else got beyond 2*.
The only scenario I never felt I had a chance was the UK one - maybe another few turns would have been enough to make the difference. I think the middle east route was a bit more fun than going through Russia and eastern Europe, but overall it was good.

Michael only seems to fire the DV if you complete it by the end of turn 14. General Werner ran into the same issue.captainjack wrote:Somehow I survived.

As for the airfield, it is likely that I forgot to change the flag over in v2.0, so it is still stuck to the old flag, which doesn't count as the CP anymore.
UK I will have to see if 18 turns is possible, otherwise I will crank its turn count up a bit.

Hello
I started the Grande Map but it seems I got some technical problems. I am now in round 20 and could never buy a new unit because there are no slots free. I lost already some troops. In round 20 I disbanded a lot of my troops (around 15 units) to see whether I could buy new ones but still the same message: not enough slots.

The long-awaited 3.1 update is here.
Most changes are minor, but you will notice significant revisions to Uk18 and Arras18 (making both a bit easier). I have also added a new 'Bomber Zeppelin' arriving in Nov 1915 to compensate for the lack of decent German Bombers in the mod (even though Germany's bombing campaign was by far the largest).
General Werner, If you would like to have another crack at the campaign, I will be interested in your result. If you fail to get to Paris but DV the Race to the Sea, you will now be able to go to the Middle East if you choose that option. Also, the Grand map should be working again.

There was an article (I think on telegraph.co.uk) a day or two back about one of the original AA guns in Dover that had been restored to firing condition. These were installed because of zeppelin bombing raids so the bomber Zeppelin is a good (and historically well timed) addition.
I've just updated my unit files for my private mod, so will be updating that for a wee while. I will keep WW1 and Mongol hordes in reserve for when I need a break from that.

I actually just added the bomber zeppelin because the gas zeppelin needed some company and the Albatros C.II/III is garbage at bombing stuff, and even worse as a fighter!captainjack wrote:There was an article (I think on telegraph.co.uk) a day or two back about one of the original AA guns in Dover that had been restored to firing condition. You are welcome to take the credit for the decision, even if it was coincidence.

I will have a look on the Grand Map and the Middle East.
Re: "Kaiserschlacht" WWI Mod v3.1 (Aug 1, 2015)
Hi,
maybe this has already be answered or I misunderstand something, but so far I was unable to install the Grand Campaign for the Kasierschlacht Mod. I downloaded version 3.1. installed it and can play it in the usual way with JSGME, but no Grand Campaigns are there to be found. Is there an aditional donwload link somewhere to be found? The links in this thread to the Grand Campaign files seem to be dead, so I thought it might be integrated in the 3.1. version- Or maybe I am completely wrong and one of the four campaign in the main menu is meant as Grand Campaign?
If somebody could help me with my ignorance and enlighten me, I would be grateful.
In any case, thank you for the tremendous effort and work you invested,
Gunja

The 3 buttons marked with yellow arrows are the various start points into the main campaign, which you will have gotten a glimpse of if you read General Werner's AAR. 1914 begins at the start of WWI with the Schlieffen Plan, and is the recommended option, though it is still possible to win the campaign in 1916 (Verdun) and 1918 (Michael).
The green arrow is indicating the 'Grand Europe Map', which is kind of like the Battlefield Europe mod, but half the size and focussing on WWI, though artillery range and a few other factors have been reduced (plus I don't let you have all the cool fantasy units present in the 1920 part of the mod)
If you are referring to the Grand Campaign '14 project, this was never formally released, but the files for the scenarios are included in the mod folder. Although the scenarios can be played if you move the files to My Documents/My Games/Panzer Corps/Scenario and open them through Custom... on the New Game> Scenario screen, they were never fully built into the campaign and I cannot guarantee that they still work, seeing as they were designed for v1.2 and have been ignored since.
If you have any further questions, I will be more than happy for you to post them

Thank you for you quick reply. Yes I was referring to the GC 14 project. This actualy answers everything, once again thank you for your help and most of all for all the work. As for the AAR I did not read it, because I still didn't play your campaign and I prefer not to read any AAR before I play through the campaign, maybe that is a wrong approach, but it always feels somehow like cheating to me, to know too much in advance.
