Just bought Fog. (Windows 7 64 Bit.)
Tried to update online.
Got the same patching error as 'Hiimori' above.
So uninsulated everything reinstalled. Download the then ran patch Field of Glory 1.8.1 Update.
Now I get

I had this Runtime error problem recently as well. Here's what I had to do to get it to run properly (NB. All drivers etc were up to date).

Initially I had installed FoG Digital + RoR & SAS and patched it to 1.8.1 and it worked fine. I then bought DAF and when I installed got the error. I purchased the other add-ons (IF, LT, EE) and loaded them - same problem. Uninstalled the game and reloaded everything in release order and patched - same problem. So after discussing it with Christian at Customer support I did the following:

1. Uninstalled FoG + expansions
2. Deleted the Field of Glory folder under the Slitherine folder
3. Re-installed FoG Digital
4. Patched it to 1.8.1
5. Went on to the Slitherine site and registered all the expansions (the link to Register on the Splash screen at Startup didn't work so I had to go to the website using a browser as normal).
6. Installed all of the expansions (in release order).

This seemed to work - I'm not sure what was different from the earlier attempts - perhaps deleting the FoG folder or patching to 1.8.1 before installing the expansions? I'm not sure why registering the add-ons should make a difference either.

Anyway I hope this might help anyone who has a similar problem.

After running into the same trouble noted by the gentleman above, I followed the instructions: Uninstalled FoG, deleted the folder, and reinstalled. During patching, on the 19th of 20 patches, I received the following error:

It appears I can play regular FoG without any of the add-on packs. I would like to play RoR, IF, and EE, all of which I have purchased, but am afraid to continue reinstallation in light of the above error (which I also ran into yesterday while trying to patch - before the full uninstall).

My system:
NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450
Intel Core i7 CPU 950 @ 3.07 GHZ
6 GB RAM
Win 7 Pro

Any help is appreciated. I want to play me some Eternal Empire!!!

I don't know why we;re seeing more of these issues recently but possibly due to newer OS's or updates to the OS.

Unfortunately until we get the new version up and running there isn't anything we can do to fix any issues in the old version. For now all you can do is wait. It far from ideal but we don't really have any solution.

Bought FOG digital and Legions Triumphant. Want to play online with a buddy of mine. I tried patching, and it gave me an error on patch 12 of 13.

I figured out how to (with help of a friend) get to Matrix games so I could find my serial numbers so I could D/L the new Build for Field of glory. I have ALL the books and I JUST saw the CD case I had the serial numbers in them but can't find it now. Any way you can help me...PLEASE!!
