Unit Traits

Post by HobbesACW »

Hi folks, been playing this excellent game for a while now but still unsure about what some of the unit traits do.
Something I would expect to be in the manual or something I can click on in the game to find out - but I see no info anywhere?
Is there any way of finding out exactly what benefits the units traits listed below give?

Marines
Camouflaged
Concealable
Supply Immune
Guerrilla
Light Tread

Thanks,
Chris

Isn't there a tooltip? Perhaps a recent patch broke it. You can find the explanations in the english.txt file in the sub-folder data/resources/language. Here are some that I remember:

-Guerilla: no efficiency loss when moving over rough terrain (jungle, river etc.). Marines have this trait, it makes them very useful in the Japanese campaign as you often have to move
through difficult terrain. They keep their movement bonus even when they have trucks or half-tracks (which may be a bug).

-Marines: Less efficiency loss when disembarking from a ship.

-Supply immune - that affects recon units and makes them immune to the efficiency loss behind enemy lines. Not to be confused with the paratrooper trait that only reduces efficiency loss.

-concealable: this means that enemy units won't see your unit until they move into the hex right next to it.

-light tread: less efficiency damage when moving over rought terrain. Seems to be available to most infantry types. Nice to have, not nearly as good as the marine trait.

Concealable only applies if the unit is in jungle, forest or city hexes.
