Operation Sealion never happened so why make so much new content based on fiction? I know I'll be shouted down by those eager to play more. But 30 battles??!

My preference is to have Panzer Corps: Battles, a perhaps battalion or division sized battle, based on actual military history recorded in detail (and add fictionalized ones). I have been saying from the very beginning that "Panzer Corps" was wrongly sized. According to the units used it should have been a tactical sized game rather than using company or battalion sized units on a strategic map engaging in strategic battle. There are innumerable smaller scenarios available from history, with some units (say a certain battalion, regiment or division) having participated in multiple corps, armies, sectors, fronts, etc., over several years, and would allow the same exact game system and use of the same experience and hero attributes. Commanders could be promoted and kept with original unit or request, receive or decline transfers or be subsumed into a SS unit, etc. Allows the interest in upgraded equipment over time rather than being stuck with equipment in the 1940-41 country side of Britain.

Umm...this is not new for them.

Sealion, rush to Moscow, and USA in Vanilla campaign did not happen.

and the alternate path in GC 45 West most certainly did not happen.

I think its fine, im looking forward to it. Plus Soviet Corps is coming, and that will be largely based in fact im sure.

Also with Soviet Corps im hoping for an alternate path of the USSR and the Western allies fighting after the defeat of Germany (like the Allied dispute in Allied Corps, but larger and more than one scenario)

There are only so many battles tht actually happened, and there is no use in including minor skirmishes that no-one has ever heard of. If you include some fictional cases, the amount of possible missions (translating to campaigns, and so profit), grows exponentially. Not to mention all the new players drawn in by the idea that they can invade the UK, America, India, or whatever the end point may be :D

Recommend reading:
"Panzer Battles," by F.W. von Mellenthin
"Lost Victories," by Erich Manstein
Many, many, many WELL KNOWN smaller battles over days, weeks, months, years, and there and back again.
Example, von Mellenthin: began war as PRIVATE in 7th Calvary Regiment, fought and was promoted through battles in Poland, France, Balkans, North Africa with Rommel, Stalingrad and Kursk, finally reaching Major General and Chief General Staff, 5th Panzer Army.. Western Front.
All battles are tactical.

Simple, i had the time to create so much new fictional content. I worked four months on scenario creation and an additional month during the beta test. There has always been some demand for something "what if".
Anyway, a more detailed Sea Lion (announcement) page should be up and running soon, which includes the scenario list.

The game is not aimed at people who know every battle involving more than 1000 men per side. If a battle isn't included in a $20 book about the war, chances are people won't know of the battle and it becomes less preferable to a more well-known battle.

I understand that people have heard of minor engagements, but those are usually for true enthusiasts that know every detail of the war. 95% of the people who play this game aren't such people though. :(

But nothing is stopping you from making a basic "Enthusiast's Battles" mod that is focussed on minor battles! :D

I think that while PzC is a massive improvement over the original PG, one of the things people liked about PG was being able to alter the strategic situation by knocking major countries out early and so on. PzC is a little frustrating in that you can perform much better than historical Germany but yet you still get pushed back every scenario from 1943 onwards. This doesn't really change that, but it does throw people who feel that way a bone.

Any plans to include a way to track multiplayer wins/losses in game? A leaderboard would be great, but I'd settle for just a personal score menu.

In the vanilla campaign you can knock out GB and Russia. The GC would be impossible to design if they were to add the same feature though.

Will it include the Soviet attack on Japan in the summer of '45?

Not impossible, but it would require a lot of extra speculative scenarios. It would for example to possible to add a second 42-43 campaign post soviet defeat whereby a much stronger Germany takes on the western Allies.

In time we will be able to go more into detail. Let's await the beta and official announcements.

Any possibility of an expanded USSR vs Western Allies in 1945 scenario(s), i.e. Operation Unthinkable-esque?
